Mystery Man in Mark is the reimagined narrative of a man few notice in Scripture—the unnamed young man who fled Gethsemane naked the night Jesus was arrested (Mark 14:51–52). What if he wasn’t just a bystander, adding no real meaning to the Gospel? What if he was the rich young ruler who once asked Jesus how to inherit eternal life—and walked away grieving? 

This short story explores the arc of a wealthy, self-assured merchant whose conscience is slowly consumed by regret. He has lived by the creed, “It’s just business,” but when he meets Christ, his identity—rooted in money, status, and control—is shattered. The encounter leaves him exposed, forced to confront the ultimate fear that has whispered since his youth, “You are not good enough.”

Through vivid storytelling and deep spiritual insight, Mystery Man in Mark takes us through his agonizing stripping of ego and masks. What begins as loss becomes the pathway to freedom, joy, and true purpose. It is a story about transformation—and then discovering that the person we always longed to be, is actually who we are, hidden under the layers of masks--glued on by self-doubt. In the end, this man’s journey is not just about him. It’s about all of us who wrestle with identity, success, and quietly ache for something real—inside us. It is about "being."
